Almost 100 people died due to abnormal heat in India

In the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and neighboring Bihar, 98 people died in the last three days due to intense heat.

 This is reported by Xinhua.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in some parts of the country on Friday and Saturday was 42.2 degrees Celsius.

At least 400 people have been admitted to the district hospital in Balla over the past three days. Patients complained of fever, shortness of breath and other health complications due to heat stroke.

54 people died in Uttar Pradesh and 44 in Bihar due to hot weather.

 Extreme heat in the world

The latest research by UK scientists has identified the countries most at risk of experiencing abnormally high temperatures due to global warming and predictions of more extreme heat waves.

Heat waves are becoming more frequent under climate change and could "result in thousands of additional deaths," the researchers believe.
