There was an ammonia leak in Kremenchuk: is there a threat to residents

The ammonia leak occurred at a meat processing plant in the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region. Two workers were hospitalized.

The Kremenchug City Council reports this on Facebook.

The incident happened on Saturday, June 17, at the local enterprise "Kremenchutsk meat processing plant".

"As a result of the accident, two workers were injured, and they were taken to the hospital with a diagnosis of ammonia vapor poisoning, a condition of moderate severity," the report says.

The emergency team stopped the ammonia leak and localized the accident. Specialists took air samples. Ammonia was not detected in the air.

"The accident was at the object level, the chemically dangerous substance did not get outside the enterprise, therefore there is no threat to the life and health of the population," the city council notes.

As a reminder, due to enemy shelling on June 5, the ammonia pipeline was depressurized in the Kupyan district of the Kharkiv region. Fortunately, there was no ammonia leak.
