Germany promised Ukraine additional missiles to the Patriot air defense system

Ukraine will receive 64 more guided missiles for the Patriot air defense system from Germany, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius promised. According to him, the ammunition should arrive immediately.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius promised Ukraine further military assistance to counter Russian air attacks. He made the corresponding statement on Friday, June 16, on the sidelines of the meeting of defense ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) member countries in Brussels.

According to Pistorius, the German government "has decided that we will immediately provide another 64 guided missiles for the Patriot systems." Berlin handed over the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in April.

Pistorius called the additional missiles "a very important sign" in support of the successful efforts of the Armed Forces in the field of air defense (air defense). He emphasized that in this way Germany provides Kyiv with "permanent support in this specific phase of the war", referring to the Ukrainian counteroffensive, writes AFP.
