Several NATO member countries have already decided to train Ukrainian pilots on Western fighter jets.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this at a briefing.
"There is a solution. Several NATO members have already supported, it was after consultations, that pilot training will begin. This issue will be considered tomorrow after the meeting of the contact group (we are talking about Ramstein - ed.)," Stoltenberg said.
He also noted that after resolving all issues related to the training of Ukrainian pilots, NATO will proceed to discuss the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine.
Training of Ukrainian pilots
It should be noted that Ukraine's allies for a long time refused to discuss the training of our pilots on Western fighter jets, as this would involve future deliveries.
But after US President Joe Biden supported such an initiative in May, the issue of training pilots became one of the main ones.
Currently, the Allies want to train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16. According to the media, Denmark wants to start training already in August.
At the same time, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal recently said that our country has selected groups of pilots who will study in Britain.
The topic of training should become a key topic during the meeting of defense ministers of Ukraine's allied countries in the Rammstein format, which will take place tomorrow, June 15.
