France has sent two teams of investigators and experts to Ukraine, who will collect data for the investigation of crimes committed in Ukraine at the International Criminal Court.
This was reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France.
On June 10-11, two teams of French specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Overseas Territories went to Ukraine. One includes investigators, the other includes technical experts.
The groups are sent according to the request for support that Ukraine sent to France.
The first group will focus on crimes involving serious damage to Ukraine's environment since the beginning of Russian aggression.
In addition, France will deploy a mission of technical experts under the auspices of the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC. The mission will collect evidence of damage to civilian objects using digital 3D models. In the future, this information will be useful both for investigations conducted by the International Criminal Court and for those conducted in Ukraine.
The work of the groups is financed by the Ministry of European Affairs and Foreign Affairs.
Before that, five similar teams of French specialists had already come to Ukraine, two of them for a long time.
In particular, the latest missions were involved in documenting the damage caused to the infrastructure, identifying the dead and establishing the causes of death, modeling the scene of the events.
In May, a group of French investigators also came to Ukraine to investigate the death of an AFP journalist.
