The White House on Ukraine's counteroffensive: Combat operations continue, but we will refrain from assessments

The White House said that "it is obvious that Ukraine has launched counteroffensive operations, but they have so far refused to give an assessment of them.

The coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, stated this at the briefing, "European Truth" reports.

"Obviously, battles are taking place during offensive operations, there is no doubt about it. But President Zelenskyy should evaluate them, not us. And also, of course, it is up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to talk about losses and gains for a separate day," he said.

Kirby added that the US will focus on "Ukraine being able to succeed on the battlefield."

In particular, he confirmed that Washington is preparing new military aid for Ukraine.

"I think very, very soon you will see some additional aid packages from the United States," he said.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Ukraine's counteroffensive has been going on for several days and should lead to conditions that will allow Kyiv to start negotiations in the most profitable way.
