On June 13, the Russian occupiers shelled Kherson, where the liquidation of the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP is underway. Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, announced this in Telegram.
He urged all residents of the city to take shelter.
It should be noted that on the night of June 6, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP, the station was destroyed and, as stated by Ukrhydroenergo, it cannot be restored. The dam of the Kakhovsky Reservoir was destroyed, an uncontrollable flood occurred, flooding thousands of houses.
An evacuation was announced in the Kherson region. In the occupied part of the region, which was more affected by the flood, it was failed, declared the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
On June 11, the occupiers shelled Kherson, where the evacuation was taking place. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko told the details on Facebook.
"21 people barely got out of a deadly water trap on the occupied left bank. Almost all of them are elderly, with limited mobility. It was a big risk, but we could not leave people to their own devices. As a result, they were shot in the back. Three civilians died. 10 people. traumatized. This is more than a crime. And there will be an appropriate reaction. We will resist. We will take revenge," Klymenko said.
