The head of the IAEA is going to Ukraine: he will discuss assistance after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, is on his way to Ukraine on a working visit. In particular, he wants to discuss aid after the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP.

This was reported by Grossi on Twitter.

"On his way to Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and present a program to help eliminate the consequences of the catastrophic flooding of the dam in Nova Kakhovka," Grossi wrote.

He also noted that during the visit he will assess the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and conduct a rotation of IAEA employees at the station.

 Undermining Kakhovskaya HPP

It will be recalled that on June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP, which led to the destruction of the dam. As a result of the incident, flooding began in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

It is known that due to the actions of the occupiers there are casualties among the civilian population. The Russians cynically tried to accuse Ukraine of undermining the Kakhovskaya HPP, but their accusations were denied.
