From the first days after the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP, Moshe Asman and a group of volunteers were in Kherson and the region, helping with the evacuation of the population and providing people with food, water, medicine and other necessary goods.
During the evacuation of residents of flooded settlements, the chief rabbi and his companions came under enemy fire.

Undermining Kakhovskaya HPP
The Russian occupiers blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP on the night of June 6. Due to this, dozens of settlements were flooded in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
The flooding led to tragic consequences. Thus, 8 people died in the Kherson region, and another 42 people are considered missing. And in the Mykolaiv region, it is known about the death of two residents.
