The fighter coalition for Ukraine is getting stronger. Currently, the military is working purely on the technical aspects of the transition to new weapons systems.
This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba on the air of the "Breakfast with 1+1" program.
As the minister said, the "political plan" provided for the beginning of pilot training on American-made F-16 fighter jets from June. Today, purely technical points are being resolved: "Now the military is working on organizing it all, it's a difficult process."
"But this coalition, let's say, is getting stronger. As the classic said, "the percentage of fat in butter increases every day" (quote from the play "Hamlet" by Les Podervyanskyi, ed.). I have said and I will say it again: everything will be fine. There will be F-16s. We just need to solve the technical issues. Everything will be fine, we will win," Kuleba noted.
Training of Ukrainian pilots
Britain recently agreed to begin training Ukrainian pilots, despite the fact that the country does not have American F-16 fighter jets.
As the British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons noted, the soldiers will undergo basic training in order to be able to transfer and develop their skills in the field of controlling Western aircraft.
At the beginning of June, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that Kyiv had selected the first groups of Ukrainian pilots for training in Britain.
Meanwhile, Berlin may soon reconsider its position on the possible supply of modern Western fighter jets to Ukraine, despite the fact that the country's chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has denied Germany's participation in the coalition.
