Lukashenko accused Ukraine of undermining the Kakhovskaya HPP

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, said that Ukraine was guilty of undermining the Kakhovskaya HPP.

As Europeyska Pravda writes, Lukashenko said this at a meeting with the secretaries of the security councils of the CSTO member states, he was quoted by the Belarusian state agency BELTA.

"You can probably guess who blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP. They say that a thief's hat is on fire. Who was the first to shout about it?" Lukashenko said.

The self-proclaimed head of Belarus said that the reason for the explosion was allegedly the need to hide the failed start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

"It is clear that the Ukrainian side had to hide three days of "counter-offensive", where almost two hundred armored vehicles were destroyed and more than 2 thousand people died. That's why - Kakhovka, Kakhovka, but no one talks about that (Ukrainian losses. - Ed.). And this is all visible," Lukashenko said.

And you see what a neat, careful position the USA has taken, you have to give them credit. They immediately said: We cannot yet say who did it. We have to figure it out." Guess what it's from?" he added.

It is worth noting that the White House stated that the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP would not have been possible if the Russian army had not invaded Ukraine, and therefore the responsibility for the destruction was placed on the Russian Federation.

US President Joe Biden previously expressed his firm readiness to provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine after the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP dam.
