Nova Tavolzhanka is located a few kilometers from Vovchansk.

The "Russian Volunteer Corps" claims to have taken full control over the village of Nova Tavolzhanka.

The village is located in the Belgorod Region, three kilometers from the border with Ukraine, on the banks of the Siverskyi Donets River. The city of Shebekino is eight kilometers from there, it is actually a suburb of the district center.

A few days ago, there were battles in the area between the regular troops of the Russian Federation and fighters of the "Russian Volunteer Corps". For the second day in a row, Russian volunteers post videos from the village and assure that, apart from them, there is no other government in Novaya Tavolzhanka. It is controlled by the RDK and another voluntary formation of Russians fighting for Ukraine - the "Freedom of Russia" legion.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed in a video message that the Russian army has lost control over the settlement, and Russian troops cannot enter it. According to him, about 100 civilians remain in the village. Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, more than 5,000 people lived in this settlement.

The fighting between the Red Army and the regular army of the Russian Federation also affected the Ukrainian border villages. According to the testimonies of residents of the villages of Ohirtseve, Gatishche, Bugruvatka, and Staritsa, shelling by the Russian Federation has become more frequent in recent days. This is confirmed by the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
