President Volodymyr Zelenskyi insists that all countries that share a common border with the Russian Federation, including Ukraine, should join the EU and NATO due to the constant Russian threat.

 He said this while speaking at the summit of the European Political Community in Chisinau, reports Agora.md.

 "Russia is afraid of NATO and tries to absorb only those who are outside the common security space. We have frozen wars in neighboring territories. For example, why is the Russian army in Transnistria? The Kremlin needs it only in order to one day unfreeze an attack on Moldova ", Zelenskyi emphasized.

 According to him, "all countries that border Russia and do not want to be torn apart by Russia should join the EU and NATO."

 "And we have only two alternatives - an open war or a step-by-step occupation by Russia," the Ukrainian president added.

 Zelenskyi said that he expects Ukraine to be accepted into the EU and NATO as soon as possible.
