Ukraine's membership in NATO is still impossible - the head of the German Foreign Ministry

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berbock, states that there is no question of Ukraine's membership in NATO yet, as Russia's aggressive war continues.

She said this before an informal meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member countries in Oslo, Spiegel reports.

According to the head of the German Foreign Ministry, the doors of the Alliance are open for accepting new members. This applies primarily to Sweden, as well as Ukraine.

"At the same time, it is also clear that we cannot talk about new membership in the midst of war," Berbok said, commenting on Ukraine's accession.

The Prime Minister of Latvia, Kristianis Karinsh, having arrived at the summit in Moldova, said that at the NATO summit in Vilnius in July, the possibility of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance will be discussed after the war with Russia ends.
