On Tuesday, May 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyі held a conversation with representatives of the British defense company BAE Systems. It manufactures Challenger tanks and M777 guns.

Zelenskyi held a conversation with Executive Director Charles Woodburn, Managing Director Gaby Costigan and Director of Cooperation with Ukraine Christian Siar.
"We discussed the localization of production in Ukraine. We agreed to start work with the opening of the BAE Systems office in Ukraine, and later - the repair and production facilities of the company's products," the president said.
He stated that Ukraine is ready to become a major regional hub for the repair and production of various types of products of the BAE Systems company and is interested in more global relations than those that exist now.

In 2021, the company ranked 7th in the world by the volume of sales of military products (accounting for 96% of revenue). In 2008, it was the largest company in the world for the production of weapons.
What does the company produce and what of it is already available in Ukraine
The company produces Eurofighter Typhoon, SEPECAT Jaguar, McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II and Panavia Tornado fighters.
It also produces Challenger 2 tanks, CV90 and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Archer self-propelled guns (will arrive in Ukraine during the summer of 2023 - ed.) and M777. Western countries have committed to transfer these types of weapons to Ukraine or have already transferred them.
