The ambassador in Germany announced 110 Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine

Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeev, announced that Kiev will acquire Leopard 1 tanks in the near future.

"110 Leopards 1A5. Coming soon," the ambassador wrote on Twitter, adding a photo against the background of one of the tanks, as well as a video from the repair shop.

Makeev did not give any details, but apparently it is about tanks, the transfer of which was announced by the Netherlands together with Germany and Denmark in February.

Then it was about 100 tanks, later there was information about 80 units.

According to unofficial information, we are talking, in particular, about the former Danish Leopards, which were decommissioned in 2010 and sold back to the German manufacturer Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft, where they remain in warehouses.

On April 28, it was reported that Ukrainian tankers had already started training on Leopard 1 tanks.

In early May, Acting Minister of Defense of the country Troels Lund Poulsen said that Leopard 1 tanks will be ready for deployment in Ukraine by June 1.
