There are still enormous risks surrounding the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Currently, Ukraine is working on creating a demilitarized zone there.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, the occupation of Zaporizhzhya NPP continues to remain a huge threat. The Russians do not stop shelling the infrastructure around the station, due to which it was already completely de-energized.
"Ukrenergo has now restored power to the plant, but colossal risks remain. We are working with all partners to force Russia to leave the ZNPP and create a demilitarized zone around the plant," Shmyhal emphasized.
The situation around the ZNPP
It is worth noting that on May 22, as a result of another attack by Russian soldiers, the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which has been under occupation for more than a year, was cut off from external power and operated from diesel generators. Such a situation could lead to a radiation disaster.
But already on the same day, "Ukrenergo" announced that the Zaporizhzhya NPP power supply had been restored.
