Poland is negotiating the purchase of Swedish early warning aircraft and hopes that the negotiations will be concluded in the near future.
This was announced on Monday by Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.
"I would like to publicly state for the first time that we have advanced very far in the issue of receiving early warning aircraft from Sweden. We are already conducting detailed negotiations. I hope that they will be successful in the near future," Blaszczak wrote on Twitter after the meeting of the defense ministers of the countries . of Northern Europe.
He did not provide further details on the number or type of aircraft involved.
Early warning aircraft are produced in Sweden by the Saab company. Last year, the Swedish Armed Forces ordered two GlobalEye early warning aircraft from Saab. The Swedes currently use the old Saab 340 AEW&C aircraft.
