Elections in Turkey: ex-presidential candidate announced his support for Erdogan

The former candidate for the presidency of Turkey from the "ATA Alliance" Sinan Ogan will support the candidacy of the current leader of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the second round of the elections, which will take place on May 28.

 This is reported by Hurriyet.

It should be noted that Ogan won 5.2% of the votes in the first round of the Turkish presidential election.

He said his team then held talks with Erdogan to align their priorities.

"Based on the results of these negotiations, I declare that we will support the candidate from the People's Alliance. I invite those who voted for us to support Erdogan," Ogan said.

On May 14, the first round of presidential elections was held in Turkey. According to its results, Erdogan won 49.24% of the votes, and opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu - 45.07% of the votes.

Since none of the candidates won 50% of the vote plus one, the second round, which will take place on May 28, awaits the country. It should be noted that the second round of presidential elections will be held in Turkey for the first time.
