 This was reported by the Telegram of Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar.

 "The enemy withdrew most of its reserves from Bakhmut and significantly strengthened the group. The enemy attacked Bakhmut all day today. All attacks were repulsed by our defenders," the deputy minister said.

 According to her, as of 19:00 on May 18, the Ukrainian military controls the southwestern part of Bakhmut.

 "The enemy also attacked the outskirts north of Bakhmut. The attacks were repulsed. In some areas, our troops have advanced by 500 meters," Malyar added.

 She also reported that there was fierce fighting in the southern suburb of Bakhmut during the day. The enemy went on the offensive and tried to regain the lost territories, but suffered losses and was unable to complete its tasks.

 "In some areas, our troops advanced by 1 km," the deputy added.
