Russian troops are pushing on the eastern front, - Syrskyi

The situation on the eastern front continues to be difficult. The situation in the Bakhmut and Lyman-Kupyansk directions remains particularly acute, where Russian troops are trying to break through the Ukrainian defense. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram.

He noted that Ukrainian troops continue to successfully resist enemy attacks in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction.

"The fiercest battles are taking place in the areas of Raihorodka and Kovalivka, where the enemy, despite the losses, is trying to break through the defense of our troops using assault units on armored vehicles," said Sirskyi.

He also added that the enemy is actively regrouping, moving additional units from the territory of the Russian Federation to increase the number and combat capability of its troops.

According to the general, the fighting in the Bakhmut direction continues daily and is quite fierce. In particular, he emphasized that the enemy is persistently trying to regain lost positions and conducts counterattacks on our units several times a day.

"Intense combat actions are taking place in the areas of Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, Yahidne and Andriivka," emphasized Syryskyi.
