During the night attack on Ukraine, one X-101/X-555 missile hit an object in the Khmelnytskyi region.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Air Force Command Yuriy Ignat, writes RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, six "Calibre" and two "Iskander-K" that attacked Odesa were shot down by the Air Defense Forces.
According to Ignat, the enemy sent 21 X-101/X555 air-based cruise missiles to the Kyiv region, which were launched by strategic bombers from the Caspian region. All targets were destroyed.
The military noted that an anti-aircraft guided missile during a shootdown usually does not hit the target by collision, but breaks up next to it. Thus, striking elements of the warhead of an anti-aircraft missile pierce the body of a cruise missile or a drone and they fall.
"However, a cruise missile or drone launched in the air does not always explode. They will surely fall to the ground, but they will not achieve their goals. That is why we emphasize that even the successful operation of our air defense system does not guarantee safety. During an alarm, it is necessary to observe safety measures, and not to film on the phone," explained Ignat.
He specified that exactly such a case happened in Odesa. There was no "arrival" at the target, but the fired missile fell, as a result of which there is a dead person and several wounded.
We will remind you that this night the Russians launched 30 missiles over Ukraine in several waves of attacks. Ukrainian forces managed to destroy 29 of them. Also, two shock "shaheda" and two reconnaissance UAVs of the operational-tactical level were shot down.
