A peace summit on Ukraine will be the topic of discussion among the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries this week in Japan.

This was reported to the Reuters agency by an EU official familiar with the discussions.

"Leaders of G7 wealthy countries will discuss the idea of holding an international peace summit regarding Ukraine during a meeting in Japan this week," the agency said, citing a source.

G7 leaders will meet on May 19-21 in the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

The G7 summit will also discuss the use of frozen Russian assets.

It will be recalled that in March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi proposed holding a summit based on his peace plan in one of the European capitals.

According to the media, the EU is proposing to hold this summit in Copenhagen before the NATO summit in July.

As you know, in his speech at the G20 summit in autumn 2022, the President of Ukraine presented a 10-point peace plan.
