In Luhansk, located far from the front line in Russian-controlled territory, on Monday during an explosion, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the so-called "LPR" Igor Kornet, appointed by Russia, was wounded.

The explosion happened in a hair salon. Several other people were injured. Kornet, who headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian-backed separatists since 2014, is in serious condition.

In the morning, two explosions took place near the bus station in Luhansk. This is reported by TARS with reference to the representative of the authorities of the so-called "LPR" Rodion Miroshnyk. Civilian infrastructure was allegedly damaged. No casualties have been reported.

The target of the strike may have been the territory of the former aviation school of navigators, Miroshnyk wrote in his Telegram channel, suggesting that it was "most likely missiles." There is a fairly dense residential development. The building of the cadet corps was recently restored," said Miroshnyk.

On Friday, Luhansk was already reported to have received rocket fire. According to the version of the LPR appointed by Russia, during the shelling of Luhansk on May 12, the Ukrainian army used two Storm Shadow cruise missiles, recently provided by Great Britain, and one anti-aircraft missile. As a result of the explosions, according to the Russian-appointed authorities, six children were injured.

An explosion was heard again in Luhansk on Saturday morning. The mass media published pictures with a column of smoke rising over the city. According to a number of reports, an attack was made on the former building of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where Russian military personnel were allegedly stationed.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that the Russian military shot down one Storm Shadow missile in the last day - this is the first report. The Ukrainian side did not comment on it.

On the morning of May 15, the village of Lokot and the village of Chervyn Orach in the Rila district of Kursk region came under fire. This was announced by the regional governor, Roman Starovoyt, blaming the attack on the Armed Forces. There are no casualties. The explosions damaged the power line — about 600 people were left without electricity.

The Russian regions bordering Ukraine - the Kursk, Bilhorod and Bryansk regions - regularly come under fire, causing destruction and casualties. The regional authorities claim that the attacks are being carried out from the Ukrainian side. Kyiv does not comment on these messages.
