There is no evidence that Russia is ready for serious diplomacy to end the war - Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia is currently not ready for serious negotiations to end the war it has waged against Ukraine.

He said this in a conversation with Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, according to the press service of the US State Department.

"There is no evidence that Russia is ready for serious diplomacy. On the contrary, we have witnessed terrible attacks on civilian objects in Ukraine only in the last week," the state secretary said.

According to him, in order for the Russian Federation to start negotiations, "profound changes must take place in the consciousness of Putin and in the consciousness of Russia."

We will remind, the day before, the Chairman of the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Mark Milley, said that sooner or later Russia will want to negotiate with Ukraine, when it realizes that the losses exceed the benefits.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Har Støre emphasized that peace in Ukraine after the end of the war should be established on Kyiv's terms.
