In Slovakia, they started collecting more than 1 million euros per tank for Ukraine

In Slovakia, they started a fundraising campaign for the purchase of a tank with ammunition for the Ukrainian army.

This was reported by the Slovak publication Dennik N.

The organizers, the public association "Gift to Ukraine", want to collect 1.2 million euros and have already reached an agreement with the enterprise where the T-72M1 tank is currently located and undergoing modernization.

So far, almost 31,000 euros have been collected from the required amount, according to the project's official website.

The collection of funds was started by the Mutsky family, which owns a tailoring studio for men's suits in Bratislava. The action was supported by public figures - in particular, actors Richard Stanke and Yevhen Libezniuk.

"It's time for Slovakia to make a big gesture to show that it is on Ukraine's side. To send a signal that the majority of Slovaks want Ukraine to win," Nikolas Mutska, the youngest of four brothers, commented on behalf of the family.

According to the initiative's website, fundraising started on May 1, 2023. The total amount collected will be paid to the arms company, after which the tank will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Transportation of the combat vehicle to the territory of Ukraine will be provided by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic.

The expected delivery date of the tank is September 2023.
