The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) claims to have discovered a channel for supplying British explosives to Ukraine's military intelligence for terrorist attacks in Crimea, which, according to the agency, passed from Bulgaria to Russia via Turkey and Georgia.
"The international smuggling channel organized by the Ukrainian special services from Bulgaria, which passed through the territories of Turkey and Georgia, to Russia of explosives and components of explosive devices, camouflaged as household electric stoves, was opened and localized," the FSB said in a statement.
In Crimea, several citizens of Ukraine and Russia were detained, who were allegedly preparing an attempt on the Russian leadership of the annexed peninsula - Russian President of Crimea Serhiy Aksyonov, Chairman of the Russian Parliament of Crimea Volodymyr Kostiantynov and Mayor of Russian-controlled Yalta Yanin Pavlenko. The FSB claims that the group was created by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The authorities of Ukraine and Georgia have not yet commented on the FSB message.
In October last year, Moscow announced that the explosives used to blow up the Crimean bridge were delivered to Russia through Georgia. According to the FSB, Georgian citizens were also involved in organizing the shipment of cargo from Bulgaria to the port of Poti (Georgia), and then to Armenia. At the time, Tbilisi said that the truck with explosives did not cross the border of Georgia.
