The Unified Register of Missing Persons, which was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Commissioner for Missing Persons and other agencies, has become operational in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, tens of thousands of people have been considered missing. The vast majority of them have been found, but about 23,000 people who are considered missing under special circumstances - as a result of military operations - have been officially confirmed.
Thus, the register will collect and centralize data on missing persons: name of the person, place and date of birth, marital status, place of residence, territory where the disappearance occurred, circumstances and time of the disappearance, signs of the person.
The register will also include data on the presence or absence of a court decision to recognize persons as missing or declared dead, as well as other information that will facilitate the search for a person.
One month after entering the relevant data into the register, relatives will be able to receive a relevant extract that will confirm the status of the missing person. Based on the extract, people will be able to apply to the Pension Fund to receive a survivor's pension for disabled family members.
