The Kremlin commented on the telephone conversation between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the leader of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. There they declared that they were allegedly "ready to welcome everything that approaches peace."
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmytro Peskov, who is quoted by the pro-Kremlin mass media.
"We are ready to welcome everything that can bring the end of the conflict in Ukraine closer and Russia's achievement of all its goals. As for the very fact of communication, it is a sovereign matter of each of these countries and a matter of their bilateral dialogue," Peskov said.
According to him, the Kremlin knows that the Ukrainian "peace formula" and the so-called Chinese "peace plan" have found common points of contact.
"We know this. The information was repeatedly presented by (Ukrainian President Volodymyr - ed.) Zelenskyi and our Chinese partners, and all the main parameters of these plans were publicly voiced," Peskov added.
At the same time, he clarified that when Xi Jinping visited Moscow in March and spoke with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, then the parties did not discuss the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the 1991 borders.
"No, it wasn't about that," says Peskov.
Conversation between Zelenskyi and Xi Jinping
It will be recalled that yesterday the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the leader of China Xi Jinping held telephone talks for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that as Xi Jinping stated in a telephone conversation with Zelenskyi, his country will do everything possible for a ceasefire.
Thus, according to the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov, this conversation lasted almost an hour and some points of contact between the peace plans of Ukraine and China were reached. In particular, regarding the inadmissibility of using nuclear weapons.
