The wreckage of a military facility was discovered in the north of Poland. It was probably an air-to-surface missile.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Poland and RMF24.
The wreckage of the facility was discovered on Tuesday, April 25, in a forest near the city of Bydgoszcz.
"The remains of an unidentified military facility were found. The situation does not threaten the safety of local residents," the Ministry of Defense said.
The Prosecutor General of Poland Zbigniew Zyobro said that the prosecutor's office in Gdańsk has started an investigation. Investigators, police and military experts are working at the scene of the incident.
According to the Polish publication RMF24, the wreckage of an air-to-ground missile was found near Bydgoszcz. It probably fell some time ago. Journalists note that there were allegedly inscriptions in Russian on the wreckage, which may indicate Soviet weapons. According to preliminary data, the missile does not have a warhead.
Earlier, the Polish mass media, citing local residents, reported that the drone had fallen.
It is worth noting that Bydgoszcz is located almost 500 km from the border with Ukraine, more than 400 km from Belarus and 240 km from the Kaliningrad region of Russia.
