Russia continues to produce and stockpile missiles. However, the enemy can use them not to strike civilian objects, but to disrupt Ukraine's counteroffensive.
In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated this.
"Russia is also producing new missiles during this time. It is accumulating them to disrupt our offensive operation. They hope for this. And most of these missiles will be used during active hostilities. But at the same time, they are increasing their potential," he said. .
Budanov confirmed that the Russians are working to increase the volume of missile production. Ukrainian intelligence knows how many missiles the Russian Federation produces per month, but Budanov did not reveal the details. According to him, these volumes are insufficient for the enemy in terms of the scale of their attacks.
"Let's go back to history. The first rocket strike - there were about 120 rockets in a salvo. The strikes took place on Mondays, do you remember, it was already a meme? Then the number of rockets in the salvo constantly decreased, the intensity was maintained. Then they began to increase the interval. Then they began to further increase the gap and further reduce the number of missiles. And so they came to almost zero," explained the head of the GUR.
Budanov noted that Russia had depleted its stockpile of missiles, but had not achieved its goal.
"When they actually got to zero, they were forced to stop. This, by the way, is one of the aspects that was unofficially - officially presented to Mr. Surovikin - that he brought the missile arsenal of the Russian Federation to zero when it was taken down," the intelligence officer added .
The head of intelligence believes that the Russians will not store the missiles until the fall, but will use them to strike the military in order to disrupt the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.
It will be recalled that the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that Russia is going to start serial production of X-50 missiles in the summer in order to resume missile attacks in the fall.
However, the Air Force of the Armed Forces emphasized that the Russian Federation will not be able to accumulate even a third of its former stockpile of missiles by the fall.
