President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has accepted an invitation to participate in the NATO summit in Vilnius in July, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

He said this when he arrived at a meeting in the Rammstein format in Germany on April 21.

"President Zelenskyi and I discussed preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius in July. I invited him to participate in the meeting, and I am glad that he accepted the invitation and will participate in the NATO summit in Vilnius," Stoltenberg said.

The Secretary General of NATO also commented on the remarks of journalists that Ukraine proposed specific steps regarding its membership as a condition for President Zelenskyі's participation in the summit.

"As I said yesterday in Kyiv, the future of Ukraine lies in the Euro-Atlantic family. All NATO allies have agreed that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. But the main focus now, of course, is how to ensure that Ukraine gets an advantage (in the war. – Our support helps Ukraine move towards Euro-Atlantic integration, our help allows them to make it possible," added the Secretary General.

The day before, at a joint briefing with Stoltenberg, Zelenskyі thanked for the invitation to visit Vilnius, but said that it is important that Ukraine receives a corresponding invitation.
