Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, 2,235 people have been returned from Russian captivity.
This was reported by Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Malyar in Telegram.
"The Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, in cooperation with the Office of the President, returned 2,235 people to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion," the message reads.
According to Malyar, the exchange and treatment of prisoners of war is another proof of the civilization of the Ukrainian state even in the conditions of such a destructive war.
