The Russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson region 96 times during the past day. Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the regional military administration, reported this on Telegram on April 15.

The enemy fired 447 shells from heavy artillery, drones and aviation at populated areas of the region.

The enemy shelled Kherson nine times.

"The Russian military targeted the residential quarters of the population centers of the region; the territory of the river port in Kherson," wrote Prokudin.

As a result of shelling by the Russian invaders, eight people were injured.

"Forty-seven people were evacuated from the de-occupied territory of the region," said the head of the RMA.

The Russian occupiers captured Kherson and almost the entire Kherson region at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, in February - March 2022. In November, the defense forces of Ukraine liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, together with the regional center, from the Russian occupiers.

After that, the Russians began systematically shelling Kherson and other liberated settlements in the region. Prokudin noted that the occupiers are randomly shelling all areas of Kherson where people live, although there is neither military equipment nor soldiers there.

The left-bank part of the Kherson region remains under Russian occupation. In the captured territories, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers put pressure on the local population and limit their rights, as well as move Ukrainians into the homes of Russian military personnel.
