The Romanian city of Timisoara has prepared four powerful generators for transfer to Ukraine, joining the initiative of the European Parliament.
This was reported in the city hall.
The generators are being handed over as part of an initiative launched by the European Parliament and an association of several hundred European cities, Eurocities, which, against the background of systematic shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, decided to jointly collect generators and components for repair.
"Timisoara has joined the "Generators of Hope" campaign and will send four generators to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, the people of Timisoara have shown solidarity with Ukraine and will continue to do so," Mayor Dominik Fritz said.
"It took more time than we wanted, but we are glad to finally send the generators... to Timisoara - with Ukraine," noted Oleksandr Varzar, representative of the city hall for international relations, adding thanks to the president of the European Parliament for the initiative.
