Defensive lines are being strengthened around the clock: Nayev spoke about the situation in the north

The situation in the north of the country remains stable and under control. Military personnel strengthen the defensive lines around the clock.

This was announced on Facebook by the Command of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The situation in the Northern operational zone is stable and under control. Our soldiers are fully using it to strengthen defensive lines and positions," the message reads.

The Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev, said that the construction of the engineering barrier system in the regions bordering Belarus and Russia is currently underway. In particular, anti-tank minefields are being created in tank-accessible terrain and likely routes of enemy advance deep into our territory. This week alone, several dozen minefields using more than 6,000 anti-tank mines have been laid by engineering units. More than 7,000 meters of anti-tank ditches and trenches were also dug.

"All positions are sheathed with wood for more efficient performance of tasks by our soldiers. Ukrainian servicemen work around the clock, regardless of weather conditions," the post added.

Earlier it was reported that Belarusian dictator Oleksandr Lukashenko called for an "immediate truce" between Russia and Ukraine and proposed his format.

Meanwhile, joint military exercises with Russia continued in Belarus until at least April 10.
