Eugene Prigozhin, the founder of the "Wagner" PMC, who recently reported on the capture of Bakhmut, now admitted that he could not capture the city.
This was reported by the Telegram of Prigozhina's press service.
"It must be said clearly that the enemy is not going anywhere from Bakhmut. They have an organized defense inside the city, first along the railway, then in the area of high-rise buildings in the western quarter of the city," the report says.
However, Prigozhin does not give up hope that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will still leave the city, but they will then take up prepared positions in the area of Time Yar and on the approaches to Bakhmut. Therefore, the terrorist does not expect a major breakthrough of the occupiers.
"In order to have positive dynamics, it is necessary to solve several issues. The first issue is to make sure that our flanks are reliably protected. The second is to make sure that we have a properly organized command... And the third is ammunition. When we solve all these three issues, then you can go anywhere," he said.
Earlier, the Armed Forces denied the statement of the leader of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, about the capture of the city. Russian troops are weakening, and therefore, to cover up their defeats, they are increasingly using fakes about the capture of Bakhmut, said the commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
And none of the narratives launched by Russian propaganda about the situation around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region is true. This indicates that there is no information leak regarding the plans of the Ukrainian command.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported this in Telegram.
"When I monitor the information leaks of the enemy on Bakhmut about what the military command reports to the president, who made which decisions, which plan failed, which of the generals defends which position on the defense of Bakhmut, I am very happy about one thing - we do not have any information leaks."
According to her, no true information has ever leaked out.
Russian propaganda has launched several narratives, with which it tries to psychologically influence the decision-making of the Ukrainian command regarding the situation in the Bakhmut direction. But they do not have the necessary influence for the Russian Federation.
Defense forces of Ukraine, including units of the State Border Guard Service, are holding back the advance of the Russian occupying forces on Bakhmut with extraordinary efforts.
The situation in the Bakhmut direction remains the most difficult, as the occupiers are not stopped by losses and continue to advance.
