Zelenskyі responded to statements about negotiations regarding Crimea

The representative of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov advised to focus only on the statements of Volodymyr Zelenskyi regarding the prospects of negotiations with Russia.

He said this in a comment to Liga.net.

Nikiforov thus commented on the publication in the Financial Times, which cites the words of the deputy head of the VP Andriy Sybiga that Kyiv does not reject the start of negotiations with Russia when the Armed Forces of the Ukraine come to the administrative border with Crimea.

"In this matter, one should focus on the words of the President of Ukraine and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," Zelenskyi's representative said.

We will remind, according to the quote from Sybiga in the FT, Kyiv assumes the beginning of negotiations with Russia about Crimea, when Ukrainian troops successfully reach the administrative border with the occupied peninsula. Sybiga added that this does not rule out the return of Crimea by military means.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi recently said at a joint briefing with the leaders of Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia that he would consider peace negotiations with the Russian leadership only on the condition that the Russian Federation voluntarily withdraws from the occupied territories.

In February, Politico reported in an article citing anonymous comments that the administration of the US president is still convinced that Ukraine's return of Crimea is a "red line" for Putin and threatens a serious escalation - but at the same time they do not deny Ukraine's right to reclaim the peninsula.
