The Ukrainian command and the Defense Forces are preparing a counteroffensive. However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will choose the right time for it.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said this in an interview with NV.
He noted that the political and military command tries to communicate as openly as possible, while not disclosing plans related to strategies so that the Russians do not understand.
"We say: yes, there will be a counteroffensive, its task is to weaken the enemy's defense, to break through it in certain places, using modern equipment," the minister said.
Reznikov emphasized that there is no exact date for the start of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces, as many factors affect it. In particular, weather conditions and soil conditions.
"That is why the General Staff will choose the best timing, as it happened at one time, for example, in the Kharkiv direction," the head of the Ministry of Defense said.

It will be recalled that earlier the political and military leadership of Ukraine repeatedly stated that the Ukrainian army was preparing for a counteroffensive. In addition, the defense of Bakhmut was called one of the phases of preparation for counterattacks, since Russia will lose its potential in the battles for the city.
The head of the Ministry of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, emphasized that Ukraine needs heavy equipment and well-trained fighters for the offensive.
According to him, the Armed Forces can launch a counteroffensive during April-May, but the weather affects the timing.
