Former head of the US State Department under Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, believes that the future of Russia depends on the course of the war in Ukraine.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with "European Truth" while in Kyiv.
When asked how he sees the future of post-war Russia, Pompeo pointed to the crucial importance of how the war ends.
"This (the future of Russia. - Ed.) depends on the course of the war. But in the end it will be decided how we will achieve this (the end of the war. - Ed.)," he said.
According to Pompeo, after the war, it will be necessary to find such a security architecture that will protect the world so that something like this never happens again.
"And with the right decision, the Russians will restore order in their country. I consider it absolutely real," said the former head of the US State Department.
Pompeo also believes that in order to continue to support the United States, Ukraine should stop focusing on American elections and instead continue to demonstrate a willingness to fight for its sovereignty and carry out reforms.
