From April, the occupiers can start conscription for military service in the captured territory of the Zaporizhzhуа region.
This was announced by Melitopol City Mayor Ivan Fedorov.
"The Russians once again lied. At first they said that young people from the "new regions", i.e., the occupied territories, would not be conscripted into army service. Then they themselves refuted their lie," the statement reads.
According to Fedorov, there are no exceptions for conscripts from the occupied territories in the decree on spring conscription signed by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin the other day.
"At any moment, our youth can be drafted into the army and sent to die for the enemy. The occupiers are ready to turn young men into cannon fodder," the mayor said.
He urged people to urgently leave the occupied territories, as being there is deadly dangerous for everyone.

According to British intelligence, the Russian authorities are preparing to launch a major campaign to recruit an additional 400,000 soldiers. But they need military equipment, which Moscow does not have.
