Yuri Chernychuk, the deputy head of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, who held the position of deputy chief engineer before the temporary occupation of the region, was informed of the suspicion of Russia's assistance. This is reported by the SBU.
"As a result of investigative and operational actions, it was reported that the current "head" of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, Yury Chernychuk, was suspected, who before the temporary occupation of the region held the position of deputy chief engineer. He voluntarily went to cooperate with the enemy and offered his help in the war against Ukraine," the message reads.
The Security Service of Ukraine reports that after the seizure of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Chernychuk agreed to head a fake "nuclear power plant operating organization" created on its base, which actually reports to Rosatom.
"In this "position", he forces Ukrainian nuclear workers to sign contracts with a pseudo-plant, and also facilitates the connection of the power plant to Russia's power system. Chernychuk was also a guest on Russian propaganda TV channels, where he denied the facts of Russian shelling of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant," the SSU informs.
It is noted that, in addition, the criminal activities of the Russian blogger Artemiy Lebedev, who illegally entered the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in June 2022, were documented. There, he filmed a recommended report for Kremlin media resources about the seizure of the energy facility and "dispersed" it through his half-million audience in social networks.
In addition, the SBU exposed the former deputy chief of the departmental paramilitary guard of the Zaporizhzhуa NPP for cooperation with the enemy. It is he, as stated, who is involved in the transfer of material values of the subdivision to the occupiers.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified all those involved of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
to the pseudo-manager of the NPP - Part 1 of Art. 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state);
blogger - part 3 of art. 436-2 (justification, recognition of legitimacy, denial of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants);
to the former deputy chief of the detachment of the departmental paramilitary guard, part 1 of Art. 111-2 and Part 3 of Art. 436-2.
"Currently, the perpetrators are in the temporarily captured part of our state. Comprehensive measures are underway to bring them to justice," the message emphasizes.
