On the occasion of the anniversary of the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia, a number of countries of the world reminded that they did not recognize and do not recognize Moscow's assignment of the peninsula.

The ministries of foreign affairs and embassies emphasized that Russia has grossly violated international law and continues to do so, and the Crimean peninsula and other occupied areas of the east and south remain the territory of Ukraine.
"Nine years after the illegal annexation of Crimea, Great Britain continues to be on the side of Ukraine, which continues to fight against Russian aggression. Ukrainian citizens in Crimea are oppressed: there are no freedoms, civilians are detained, children are sent to "re-education" camps, - the embassy noted of Great Britain.

"Russia's ongoing aggression violates international law and the UN Charter. Finland does not recognize Russia's illegal annexation. We support Ukraine's territorial integrity and efforts to restore it. Crimea is Ukraine," the Finnish Foreign Ministry said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden published a poster with its statement "Crimea is Ukraine. Donetsk is Ukraine. Kherson is Ukraine. Luhansk is Ukraine. Zaporizhzhуa is Ukraine."
