Why air alarms have become more frequent in Ukraine: the expert named the reasons

In recent days, cases of air alert announcements have become more frequent in Ukraine. In addition to trying to "give nightmares" to civilians, the Russian occupiers continue to look for new ways to detect our air defense systems.

Aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap told about it.

Frequent air alert announcements have several reasons:

The first is the damage to the A-50 aircraft in Machulyshchy by partisans, as a result of which the enemy began to look for new ways to detect the positions of our air defense systems. -reconnaissance. In addition, there were SU-24 flights, which are also intended for reconnaissance. In the evening, a Tu-22 took off, which is a carrier of Kh-22 missiles. Presumably, it should also have activated our air defense. And I am sure that at this time scout planes were also working somewhere," Kryvolap explained.

The second reason is an attempt to "nightmare" the population, because during an air alert, people's plans are disrupted, and the work of institutions and enterprises stops. The announcement of an air alert due to the take-off of the "Daggers" carrier, which we cannot shoot down, is also a certain shock to the people.

"On the territory of Ukraine, there are radar stations - elements of air defense systems that monitor the airspace. They transmit information to command posts and then, during an attack, missiles flying in our direction are intercepted with the help of air defense equipment," - says the aviation expert .

Some of the radar stations are in standby mode, others are in active mode. In case of take-off of the object on the territory of Russia and Belarus, active stations detect it. Depending on the level and degree of threat, other stations are connected.

"At the same time, for example, an A-50U scout took off from the territory of Belarus. It saw quite far - up to 500 kilometers. It detected our radar stations, which were activated due to the threat of launches. Since this A-50 does not currently perform these functions, other aircraft do it - the same MiG-31 (not MiG-31K), Su-24 and others," Kryvolap noted.

At the same time, there is no opportunity for fighter jets to detect stations as reliably and far as the A-50.
