Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba announced that the number of countries participating in the group for the creation of a special tribunal to punish Russia for the crime of aggression has increased to 32.
He published a statemecrime of Russian aggressionnt about this on his Twitter.
"Two more countries have joined the coalition to create a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Now 32 countries are working together to bring Russia's top political and military leadership to justice. Putin and his henchmen will stand trial," Kuleba wrote.
He did not name the countries that joined the ranks of the latter. A week ago, the minister reported that there were thirty member countries of the group after the accession of Greece.
The first meeting of the group took place on January 26, when 21 countries took part in the discussion. The second meeting of the coalition will be held on March 21-22 in Strasbourg.
As you know, on March 2 last year, the International Criminal Court began an investigation into possible crimes committed in Ukraine. To collect evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine, a joint investigative group was created, which includes several European judicial bodies.
While the ICC can deal with war crimes committed by individuals, it does not have jurisdiction to prosecute for the crime of aggression. In this regard, Ukraine is promoting the idea of creating a special tribunal against Russia.
