Air Moldova has canceled flights to Tbilisi and other European capitals

Air Moldova flights to five destinations have been cancelled, the airline announced on its Facebook page.

"Flights to Prague, London, Paris, Istanbul and Tbilisi are cancelled. The reason for the cancellation is operational problems. Two aircraft from the airline's fleet are currently unavailable for flight," the publication said.

Air Moldova also reported that it is actively working to overcome the consequences of flight cancellations and reorganize the schedule.

Earlier, the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced that it will suspend all flights to Moldova from March 14 due to potential risks to the safety of passengers. The Civil Aviation Authority of the country expressed regret in connection with the "sudden decision" of the Hungarian low-cost carrier to stop flights.

Air Moldova started operating flights between Moldova and Georgia last October. Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili took the first flight from Tbilisi to Chisinau.
