The Parliament of Moldova condemned the Russian aggression in Ukraine

At its meeting on March 2, the Parliament of Moldova adopted a declaration condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine. 55 deputies voted "for", writes NewsMaker.

The declaration notes that since February 2014, Russia has been waging an "illegal, unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression" against Ukraine, which turned into a full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. The document notes that the actions of the Russian Federation are "a war crime and a flagrant, gross violation of the principles of international law."

The authors of the project called on the aggressor country to immediately stop military operations in Ukraine and withdraw all military forces and equipment from the entire internationally recognized territory of Ukraine.

It is reported that a group of deputies from the Action and Solidarity party registered a draft declaration in the parliament on February 24, the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. As the publication writes, during the voting, deputies from the Bloc of Communists and Socialists left the meeting hall. The declaration was adopted only by the votes of deputies from the parliamentary majority.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in his speech before the UN Human Rights Council on Thursday, accused Moscow of suppressing criticism within the country and called on authorized UN investigators to continue documenting Russia's alleged violations in the war in Ukraine.
