A journalist from the American NBC boasted about an illegal trip to Crimea

On Tuesday, the American television channel NBC published a report from Crimea annexed by Russia, which clearly states that the journalists got to the peninsula in violation of Ukrainian legislation - through the Crimean bridge.

This is reported by "European Truth".

"An NBC News camera crew traveled to Crimea by train from Moscow via the Kerch (Crimea) Bridge, which was blown up last fall in a strategic and symbolic blow to Putin. It has now been fully restored, but is likely to be targeted again if hostilities continue. to the peninsula," says the text on the channel's website.

The authors of the NBC story claim that most of their interlocutors in Crimea call it Russian territory. Although the channel mentions the suppression of freedom of speech on the peninsula, it claims that even before the annexation in 2014, the population there was "more pro-Moscow than in the rest of Ukraine."

NBC does not mention the numerous cases of repression recorded in Crimea since 2014 - instead, it only talks about "recent accusations by the UN committee" of Russia in extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, politically motivated persecution, etc.

The report also cites the statements of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, about the intention to de-occupy Crimea, as well as the UN's appeals to the Russian Federation to return to "internationally recognized borders".

Thus, NBC journalists recognized the violation of Ukrainian legislation regarding the crossing of Crimea, and also believe that in the conditions of suppression of freedom of speech, the testimony of people on the peninsula can adequately represent public opinion there.

Evropeyska Pravda asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for comment.
