Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, despite repeated public speeches in recent days, has not made any statement regarding the anniversary of the invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts explained that the dictator's silence was due to the fact that Russia has not been able to achieve any of the declared goals, nor has it achieved significant territorial gains since July 2022.
However, as noted in the report, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmytro Medvedev, provocatively stated that the Russian Federation would "win the war" and repeated that "to achieve its goals, it is vital to move the borders as far as possible, even if they are the borders of Poland."
"Medvedev's words underscore the fact that the Kremlin continues to pursue its unrealistic maximalist goals, even though it cannot offer the Russian people any meaningful gains after a year of costly war in Ukraine," ISW points out.
At the same time, experts write that Russian war criminal Igor Girkin, who called Medvedev's statements delusional, commented on the anniversary of the invasion instead.
The terrorist emphasized that it is very difficult to defeat a state that receives external support using unmotivated Russian troops, an absent civil society and powerful brainwashing.
