The delegation of the Parliament of Georgia refused to visit Kyiv on the anniversary of the Russian invasion - February 24.
The member of the ruling party "Georgian Dream" Iraklii Zarkua confirmed the information, "Luna Kavkazu" reports.
"When high-ranking officials of Ukraine call our state to open a second front, when the prisoner Saakashvili, who has many serious charges, is called a political prisoner, I think that this leaves no room for diplomatic relations," he said.
"Yes, we are invited to Ukraine on February 24, although we refuse," said Zarkua, quoted by Interpressnews.
At the same time, Zarkua added that the Georgian government "supports the Ukrainian people" and does "everything at all levels", while many powerful countries, including European ones, "didn't dare to do what Georgia decided against Russia".
Earlier, the opposition member, leader of the Agmashenebeli Strategy party, Heorhii Vashadze, reported that the delegation of the Georgian Parliament refused to visit Kyiv on February 24.
It will be recalled that the speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, stated that the introduction of direct sanctions against Russia and restrictions on the entry of Russians would seriously damage the economy of Georgia, and criticized the opposition's calls for such a step.
